Having first tried the pedi paws variety and found that to be 100% useless I tried the Whal grinder. Reasoning that Whal was a well known and respected brand, however don't fall for it! The Whal grinder is completely under powered and the head doesn't rotate smoothly which my dog really did not like, it was also unreasonably loud.

This then brings me on to the FURminator grinder and I can report that it is absolutly fantastic. It has enough power to do the job but not so much that you might accidentally hurt your dog. The head has two speeds and rotates very smoothly and quietly which helps with my dog as she is a little nervous. She still doesn't like it but with this grinder she lets me get on with the job without any fuss.
