Really pleased with this cage which I bought to fit in the boot of my Yaris. It fits well with back seats slightly forward, but there is still room for rear seat passengers. It was difficult to find a dog cage suitable for a hatchback, as the door needs to be placed high enough to open over the lower part of the boot. This does that perfectly and is big enough for my two Cavalier King Charles dogs to travel comfortably,even on a long journey.
Not suitable for pups or small dogs

It fits great in my hatch/saloon and after some modification that's what it will be ..... a car crate.
The BIG fault with this crate is the gap size of the wire at the bottom (approx 4") .... this is far too big, I really fail to see why the designers have made this mistake, it serves no purpose and ruins an otherwise adequate crate.
My Weimar pup can squeeze through the gap and even when he's bigger I would still worry about him trying and getting stuck.
Conclusion: unless you want this purely for your car (and are willing to make some mods) go for another design.
