We bought this to allow us to have a lie-in on weekends, but still feed our cats at the regular time. It does that perfectly. We set both compartments to open at the same time (so that we can feed 2 cats together). We found it very easy to set (despite some reviews on other sites to the contrary) and like the "daily" function which remembers the time you set and will automatically re-use it. We had a "dry run" the first day to ensure it did open (and didn't starve the cats!) but we needn't have worried, it's been very reliable. Some people said their cats broke into it, but ours haven't even tried (despite the fact they are incredibly greedy). The bowls are easily removed for cleaning and refilling. It makes a motor noise when its opening but its not loud enough to wake us (we're about 5 metres from it, max), but is loud enough for the cats to hear and come scurrying for breakfast. Overall, I think the cost of this is a small price to pay for peace on a Saturday morning!

After browsing, chose this one due to it having a digital timer. It's easy to set up and runs on batteries. Would recommende you do a practice run first because after setting the day and time for each feeding tray, you need to also press "set". We failed to do that on our practice run, realised our error, and then were sure the cats would be fed when we were away!
The lids open smoothly and quietly. White, good quality insert trays can very easily be lifted out hand washed or put in the dishwasher.
Enabled us to go away for the weekend knowing that the cats could be fed. Each feeding tray can hold a very large portion of meat or dry food - much more than an average cat bowl.
