Anyhow, 1.8" is way too wide for a dog her size as it turns out and probably will always be too much even when her neck gets to be a couple inches wider around.

Otherwise, this collar is awesome and well worth the price. It is industrial strength and the color I wanted. I will be passing it along as a gift to a friend with a larger dog. I would not recommend this collar for a dog with less than about a 17" neck or larger and taller than medium height with short hair.
