I have a minature pinscher and while he is happy to walk the terrain here (levantine region) can be quite challanging for a small dog. He was a puppy when we had all the snow it was great because he was still able to accompany us on walks then be carried when he got to cold.Two years later I am now using it for our second puppy a daxy/yorkie mix. I initially used it so she could come out on walks when she was to young to walk on her own. She now uses it for pit stops when she gets tired on long walks.

I bought this product for my elderly Shih Tzu who has recently suffered an injury to his leg. He's 8.5kg so not the smallest dog for carrying around however I have found the sling very useful to us.

I use it to take my dog to work which involves about a 15-20 min walk from the train station and the sling has been great because it takes most of the weight off my arms and leaves my hands free when I need them. My dog seems very comfortable once he is in and settles down. There are straps to support him and keep him in so I don't need to worry much about safety and there is a surprising amount of room and would even take a longer animal then mine. It also rolls up quite small so I'm able to keep this in my handbag and just get it out when I need it which is very convenient.

For me I don't find carrying 8.5kg entirely easy but over short distances it is fine. Over longer distances I have got to consider the weight on my shoulders and back and perhaps something more...
