I have a Bichon Frise, and taking him for a walk in the local park after it has been raining nearly always resulted in the 'dipped in chocolate look', and invariably I had to put him in the bath and shower him down, and then wash the walls because he had shaken himself and spattered them. I tried an ordinary wrap-over dog coat, which is warm, but it did not protect his legs and chest and belly, so the result was the same.
So I tried this coat. It is quite expensive, but I thought I would give it a go. I found it easy to put on my dog and zip up, but when I let him run about indoors, the elastic on the front legs was not tight enough, but a few stitches sorted that out. Maybe the makers could consider a velcro fastening instead of elastic.
I used it on a walk for the first time today, and all I can say is....it was definitely worth the money!! The rain had been pouring down, and the paths in the park were muddy. I like to let my dog off the lead to run about, and...
